About

Throughout the semester team AP Bio has learned how to use multiple forms of media in addition to everything we learned about Biology. At the beginning of the year I was very apprehensive because I thought I would not be able to create a blog or figure out how to maintain it. I really liked the variety of subjects we blogged about, but some of my favorites include the posts about Ebola and my driving question about why plants have pigments other than chlorophyll. This semester we have learned so much content, but what has really stayed with me is the projects that we had throughout the year. From building different phases of Mitosis to trying to solve Ebola to researching why certain plants are edible, I feel as though I have gotten to know so much about the world around us. This knowledge has only made me think of more questions to ask and more I want to know about in biology, so next year I plan on double majoring in biology and dance at Emory University. I am so thankful for how this class has prepared me and I know I will take the skills I learned this year with me and I can use them for the rest of my life.

  1. Abi, I really like the way your blog is set up and the amount of content and work you have put into this! I can tell each post and page each have had a lot of effort put in. I definitely think you were very creative with the way you set up your website and the content you incorporated into your posts. All of the posts related to science and biology in some way while including language that was professional, yet easy to understand. My favorite post is the one that you and I did together, with DNA spooling with strawberries. We had such a good time and we were able to learn about DNA while were at it. We’ve definitely had a lot of memories and moments together, but again, the DNA spooling and having to redo the video because Hayley didn’t record was definitely my favorite memory. I’m so excited for you next year, going to Emory and dancing like you do. I know you are going to do great things, whether it be in biology or in dance, and I can’t wait for this summer and beyond. This class wouldn’t have been the same without you and this year will be something that I won’t forget. I always got you Abi, for whatever, whenever. Good luck and much love! – Elina

  3. Abi,
What an exciting adventure you are off to for next year. Dance AND Biology! They actually will be a perfect fit. Have you ever investigate dance therapy? I only know a little bit about it, but it sounds fascinating.
I am so glad you were a member of Team AP Bio this year! You took on the challenge and you certainly succeeded. I am proud of your effort, focus, determination, and talent. Thank you for sharing your kind, positive attitude. You have such a lovely spirit and I know you helped support your team mates by calming them down and cheering them on. Good effort next year and please keep in touch. I would LOVE to hear about your successes at Emory 🙂
